Kite Repairs

Items to be repaired need to be accompanied by a repair form, and can either be dropped off during shop open hours or sent to:

Fill out a repair form here, and make sure the item is clearly marked with your name, email, and phone number.  On kites the best place for this is in the kite bag label pocket.

Repair Pricelist for common repairs

(This is an approximate pricelist.  Please note that we cant provide an exact price until we have assessed the item)

Minimum price for a repair is $50.

Kites supplied wet/sandy will incur an extra $50 drying/cleaning fee.
Bar and Lines supplied with tangled lines that need untangling will incur an extra $50 untangling fee.

Turn-around time is typically 3-7 days

(however this can be longer if there is an increased workload, it is a complicated repair, or the repairs require additional parts to be ordered).

Type of Repair Approximate Cost


Canopy or Frame repairs:
Patching a pinhole or small tear in the canopy (no sewing required) Typically min charge $50 (usually cheaper to DIY – we sell patches with instructions)
Clean straight rips in canopy up to 1 metre in length Starting from $80
Large rips, messy rips, multiple rips, or rips that go in multiple directions Starting from $120
Any rips in/near the Leading Edge, or that require opening the Leading Edge stitching Starting from $80 for small holes or tears
Exploded and visibly open Leading Edge or Strut Starting from $120 (not including the bladder repair/replacement)
Re-sew areas of loose stitching (such as along the Leading Edge seam) Starting from $50


Bladder repairs:
Re-glue or replace a universal valve Min charge ($50), we also sell glue and valves with instructions on how to DIY
Re-glue or replace multiple universal valves (must be at least 2 valves) starting at $70 for 2 valves, $35 per valve
Replace a brand specific valve (ie North AirPort Valve) $65 per valve (includes the new valve)
Locating and repairing a slow leak in a Strut bladder Starting from $50
Locating and repairing a slow leak in a Leading Edge bladder Starting from $80
Repairing a fast or obvious bladder leak, or repairing a known leak from a supplied bladder Starting from $50 (usually cheaper to DIY – we sell patches with instructions)
Replacing Strut bladders that are beyond repair Starting from $50 (includes the new bladder if its one we stock)
Replace Leading Edge bladders that are beyond repair Starting from $190 (includes the new bladder if its one we stock)


Bar and Line repairs:
Replace a trim/depower rope $80 (includes the new trim/depower rope if its one we stock)
Replace safety line or other small parts $50 (includes the line/part if the part value is under $50)
Check and trim bar – check and adjust line lengths and advise if anything needs replacing. FREE for KR Club members, otherwise min charge ($50)
Snapped/worn front line (one front line only, or all front lines) New front line pair $120-$180, depending on brand and length
Snapped/worn back line (one back line only, or both back lines) New back line pair $120-$180, depending on brand and length
Snapped/worn front and back line (any combination that involves at least one of each) New line set $250-$530, depending on brand and length
