These terms comply with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) and apply to all transactions with Kite Republic (referred to as “KR”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
Returns & Exchange Policy
We want you to shop with confidence. If you’re not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may return the item (at your expense) within 14 days of purchase for a store credit.
Conditions:
- Items must be in new, unused condition, in original packaging, with all tags and accessories included.
- Returns must be accompanied by a proof of purchase.
- A 10% restocking fee may apply.
- Store credits are valid for 12 months from the issue date.
Exclusions:
- No returns or exchanges for clearance, customised, or used items, unless faulty.
- Products deemed used, damaged, or incomplete may not be accepted for return.
This policy is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, which entitles you to a refund or replacement in the case of a major product failure or if a product is not as described.
Any shipping fees paid are non-refundable, including on items later returned for store credit. If you change your mind and return an item that was shipped to you free of charge, a shipping fee will be deducted from the store credit issued for that item.
Return shipping for bulky or oversized items (e.g. surfboards, foilboards, SUP boards) can be significant. Please contact us for a return shipping estimate before sending these items back.
Incorrect Pricing Disclaimer
While we strive to ensure all prices are accurate, errors may occur. If a product has been incorrectly priced, we reserve the right to cancel the order or contact you to confirm the correct price before processing.
Discount Codes & Promotional Offers
Kite Republic offers discount codes from time to time via email, popups, and marketing campaigns. Unless a specific campaign states otherwise, the following general conditions apply to all discount codes.
Eligibility:
- Discount codes apply to full-priced, in-stock items only
- Codes cannot be applied to items already marked as on sale, clearance, or discounted
- Codes cannot be used on backorder or pre-order items
Exclusions — the following are excluded from all discount codes unless explicitly stated in the campaign:
- All sale and clearance items
- Foildrive products
- KR Club activities, events, and packages
- KR Tours and travel packages
- Lessons and lesson packages
- Hire products and services
- Gift vouchers
Code-Specific Conditions:
- WELCOME10 — 10% off your first online order only. One use per customer. New customers only. Full-priced, in-stock items only.
- KRCLUB — 5% off full-priced items. Minimum spend $500. Returning customers. Unlimited use. Full-priced, in-stock items only.
- Campaign-specific codes (e.g. EOFY10) will have their own expiry date and conditions as communicated at the time of the promotion.
General Rules:
- Codes cannot be combined with other offers unless stated
- Kite Republic reserves the right to cancel or modify any promotion at any time
- Misuse of discount codes may result in order cancellation
Terms of Sale & Product Use
- All warranty claims are handled according to the manufacturer’s or supplier’s warranty conditions.
- Warranties do not cover damage resulting from misuse, neglect, accidents, unauthorised repairs, or lack of maintenance.
- Products must be used safely and responsibly. Kiteboarding, wing foiling, and foiling carry inherent risks, including risk of injury, and can be dangerous if attempted without the appropriate skills, fitness, and equipment. Always use appropriate safety equipment and seek professional instruction if unsure.
Kite Republic is not liable for injury, loss, or damage to property arising from use of products sold. If you are not confident or experienced in the safe use of a product you are purchasing, we strongly recommend obtaining proper instruction before use. Backorders & Special Orders
In some cases, we may offer products by order only or on backorder. If a product is not currently in stock:
- We’ll notify you of the expected delivery timeframe (ETA) after purchase.
- If the ETA is not suitable, you may cancel the order for a full refund.
- Stock may be shipped from within Australia or internationally.
- Some larger or specialised items may have longer shipping times.
We are committed to keeping you informed and delivering your order as quickly as possible.
Lessons & Club Bookings – Cancellation / Raincheck Policy
- Lessons must be paid in full at the time of booking. All lesson purchases are non-refundable.
- Lessons are transferable to another person, but not exchangeable for store credit.
- Lessons must be completed within 12 months from the date of purchase.
Cancellations or no-shows:
- You must provide notice by 3:00 PM the day before your scheduled lesson to reschedule without penalty.
- Failure to provide sufficient notice or to attend a booking will result in the session time being forfeited.
- Late arrivals will result in lesson time being reduced accordingly.
Weather-related cancellations:
- Lessons may be postponed due to unsafe or unsuitable weather conditions.
- If KR cancels a lesson, it will be rescheduled to the next available time. We’ll aim to give you as much notice as possible, but the weather can change quickly.
We recommend beginning your lesson package within 9 months of purchase and allowing time for flexible scheduling. Group lessons require at least two participants of similar skill level and are best scheduled between November and March.
Camp Weekends & Ride Days:
- Cancellations 10+ days before the event are eligible for store credit.
- Cancellations 9 days or less before the event are non-refundable.
Lay-By Agreements
KR offers lay-by options with the following terms:
- Lay-by period is limited to 3 months.
- Ownership remains with KR until the final payment is received.
- If no payment is received within the lay-by period:
- KR will attempt to contact the purchaser.
- If no response is received within 7 days, the lay-by will be cancelled, the goods returned to stock, and monies forfeited.
Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to info@kiterepublic.com.au.
Shipping Terms
Kite Republic ships Australia-wide via StarTrack, and to New Zealand and internationally via FedEx or UPS. Shipping costs are calculated automatically at checkout based on the item and delivery destination.
Free shipping applies to most orders over $499 (after discounts and coupons). Oversize items (surfboards/directionals, foilboards, downwind boards, twintips and foil sets) are not eligible for free shipping but ship at half price on qualifying orders. Bulky items (SUP boards, SUP packages, long paddles, and large or collapsible travel bags) are always charged the full shipping rate due to the extra handling involved, regardless of order size.
Some oversize and bulky items cannot be shipped to New Zealand or internationally due to size or battery restrictions. International prices exclude Australian GST; any duties, customs charges, or import taxes are the buyer’s responsibility. If an international delivery is refused due to unpaid customs fees, a refund will be issued minus all shipping and return costs.
