Everyone enjoyed an awesome Ride Day last week đ
We had an early start at 7am on the day to get the most out of the forecast 20-25 knots. We went to Rye, which greeted us with plenty of water upon arrival (with high tide at 10am). There was a lot of wind when we arrived, and it slowly start dropping down to just under 12knots around 2pm, giving us at least 5 hours of awesome wind around the 20knots mark.
At arrival, we went into groups and our advanced riders had the opportunity to join Katie Porter (KR/Naish International team rider) and learn some advanced kite control from a pro. Intermediate and beginner riders joined Tam, Craig, and Cesar, and got some tips of how to get on the board, control the board efficiently, and how to keep riding steady upwind. Intermediate guys started to do some toeside riding which lead onto carve turn transitions.
The whole group had a great day with about 5 hours of kiting time. The day was sunny and warm, which is quite rare at this time of the year in Melbourne.
Thanks to everyone who joined us in our last Ride day for the 2015/16 season, we will be releasing soon our KR calendar for the season ahead, stay tuned on our website and social media for its release!
