SUPERWING X came from designing wings for the past three years and coming to the conclusion that if we wanted higher performance, we needed to use higher performance material.

We started working with the leading X-PLY manufacturer to create a thinner, lighter and more ductile X-PLY material specifically designed for SUPERWING X.

The X-PLY is stiffer, stronger and has virtually no stretch compared to conventional canopy material. This provides a ride like you’ve never experienced before when winging. The whole platform is much stiffer with barely any flutter even when the wing is flown at neutral making it the most stable and silent ride you’ll ever experience.

Wide handles in order to easily adjust your position and change to wind force. The internal core makes the handle stiff, and it’s covered with a soft and comfy sleeve made of a grippy, abrasion resistant canvas.



Hose and dump valve are located in the very front of the strut, which acts as a lock for the strut bladder to prevent unwanted movements when the wing is deflated.


A third Layer of dacron in the center of our Leading Edge provides extra stiffness to your wing for minimal deflection under load, translating into a more direct feel and a more efficient wing overall.





The triple axis grid of the X-PLY perfectly spreads the effort throughout the entire canopy. This translates into a much more efficient wing.



The Aspect Ratio evolves along with each size. Bigger sizes have a lower AR for a shorter wing span and better low end power, while smaller sizes have a slightly higher AR for superior high end control and speed. This also prevents the wingtip of bigger sizes from touching the water.







The Use of X-PLY would not have been possible without our patent pending FOLDSTRIP that allows for the wing to be carried in a small bag. The FOLDSTRIP allows the wing to be folded in half at the level of the canopy material strip then rolled preventing creases on the X-PLY.


Differences between SuperWing and SuperWing X

Technical differences


In terms of shape, SuperWing and SuperWingX have a lot of similarities on Aspect Ratio and general outline. The profile on these two wings is however quite different. X-ply being so much stiffer, there is minimal deformation when the wing is loaded so the profile is a lot thinner.

Why should I pick SuperWingX over SuperWing and the opposite?

SuperWingX will please riders that like to go fast, jump high with lots of hang time and point further upwind.

SuperWing will please riders that are more focused on cruising, freefly, waveriding, and downwinding.

What is the difference in feeling of SuperWingX vs a classic canopy wing?

SuperWingX is a lot stiffer than any other wing on the market so you will have the sensation of a very direct connection to the wind. This can feel quite unusual especially if you come from a very soft wing, however once you get used to it, it may be hard for you to go back to a canopy wing again.

If you ride a sinker board, this extra rigidity may make it feel harder to get out of the water. However, you simply need to adjust your pumping technique to get the same amount of power to get out of the water. SuperWingX develops its full power at pumping when you’re making a movement of scooping the wind from forward to back versus simply moving your arms back and forth. Also once you start moving forward you’ll notice that SuperWingX generates more power than a canopy wing thanks to its profile that is better defined at all time.


CRASH-TEST: X-PLY versus Ripstop

No production wings were harmed during this test.


Putting a foil through your wing can be quite disastrous, but having a wing with strong canopy material like Superwing X could make the difference between coming home and being able to repair it yourself, or swimming back and looking at expensive repairs.

Oh yes we did! Damien decided to drop a foil into two prototype wings to demonstrate how ripstop canopy behaves versus X-PLY. Warning: it can be painful to watch!
