Dead still, glassy waters… for the not so stable on their boards this is a blessing, but for the more experienced paddlers it means zero runners, zero rest, 100% SLOG!

Congratulations to the SUPVIC Team for putting together a very successful and very high energy race format that kept racers on their toes from start to finish. With 3 races consisting of 2/2/3 (2/2/2 for sport) 1km laps of a triangular 3 turn tight course there was never a moment that lacked excGreat Melbourne Paddleitement. Whether overtaking someone around a buoy, sprinting to try and close a gap in front of you, or digging deep to make sure that breathing down your neck didn’t get any heavier, it was a format that kept excitement levels high!

The social and kids races are always a highlight in the SUPVIC event schedule with big “Party SUPs” used to replace the standard relay events, and a fun tight course for the kids races wGreat Melbourne Paddleith plenty of support and help should they require it. Well done again guys!

It was fantastic to see the industry participants getting right behind the event with stands from all the major manufacturers and retailers.

From a KR side of things it was fantastic to see Warwick’s vision (on behalf of SUPVIC) for the racing component very positively embrGreat Melbourne Paddleaced and running seamlessly throughout the day. It was great to see Ewan Jaspan paddling strongly in his first race with an overall top 10 finish and what can you say about Jean? Absolutely nailing it for her fourth or fifth straight top female paddler. Damien convincingly took out the O/50’s and overall was clearly in the top 10. Chris was stoked with his first race in a very long while with a top 10 finish as well.

Once we have the official results we’ll update and post them all here also.
