Frequently Asked Questions — eFoiling & Foil Assist Lessons Melbourne
Can I get up on a foil in my first session?
Yes, that’s exactly what electric assist is designed for. Foil Drive and Duotone Foil Assist systems provide the thrust needed to get you up and flying without wind or a wing. Most first-timers feel the lift within their first session. Progress depends on individual ability and conditions, but our instructors will maximise every minute of your water time.
Do I need any prior experience?
No prior experience is needed. If you’ve never been on a foil board before, this session is built for you. Some background in watersports like surfing, SUP, kiteboarding or wing foiling can help you progress faster, but it’s not essential. If you can swim and are comfortable in the ocean, you’re ready to go.
What’s included in the lesson price?
Everything. Foil board, hydrofoil, electric assist unit, wetsuit, helmet, and two-way radio coaching equipment are all provided. Bring your own wetsuit if you have one, otherwise we’ve got you covered. No hidden gear hire fees.
How many people can share a session?
Each electric assist unit supports up to 2 people per session. You can book a private 1-on-1 session or share the setup with a friend and split the cost.
What is the minimum age for eFoiling lessons?
Students must be at least 14 years old. Younger students may join with parental consent and will be assessed individually. There’s no upper age limit — foil assist makes foiling accessible for a wide range of ages and fitness levels.
