Ewan Jaspan (aka 'The Megaloop Kid')
Unquestionably one of Australia’s top ‘young guns’, Ewan Jaspan has stormed through the ranks these past couple of years.
Ewan came through the Kite republic Schools program in September, 2007. He was never one to complain and get frustrated at being unable to pick something up. On these occassions we would have to pretty much drag him off the water as darkness fell upon St Kilda.
He was never content with small steps forwards. His will and motivation to improve have been evient from the start and it is this drive that saw him begin to start showing great results early on in his young career. Only a year after starting Kiteboarding he became the 2008/2009 Victorian Junior Champion, having an absolute blinder of a final taking down Linc, his partner in crime.
Constantly pushing each other to the limits Ewan and Lincoln continue to improve at maximum speed.
After only a couple of years competing, Ewan is no longer seen as one of the 'new' guys. He is now continually obtaining results that rival, if not outperform any Australian’s that have taken to competitive kiting.
Ewan is the current Victorian Open Men’s Freestyle Champion, Victorian Junior Freestyle Champion, Australian Open Men’s 3rd ranked freestyle kiter, Australian Junior 2nd ranked freestyle kiter, he has beaten the 2 x KPWT World Champion in the Kiter-X Final at the Australian Championships and he has won himself a berth in the PKRA World Tour Event to be held in December 2010. Not bad for somebody that’s only been kiting for a couple of years and only just turned 16!
Along with Ewan’s drive and undeniable talend on a kiteboard, he continues to help other juniors getting into the sport. Ewan, along with the rest of the Kite Republic Junior Team have worked with many juniors and adults alike in everything from basic tips to keeping power in the kite, to helping them land world class moves, they are all very popular around the beaches in Melbourne.
Ewan is a great ambassador, not only for the sport of Kiteboarding, but also for his sponsors… Kite Republic, Naish, ION, and SolRX.

On a trip to Altona late in 2010, while some of the Kite Republic Team were out for a session, we met this super nice kid on the beach. He blew us away (no pun intended) with his enthusiasm for the sport and his obvious passion for getting out there on the water.
After he had raced around setting up his kite we gave him a launch. 10 seconds later while he was tacking out over the super flat Altona water he unleashed one of the biggest F16's we'd ever seen and then just kept riding along onto his next trick.
After a solid session with him, in which he showed us a new spot, kept throwing down huge, and continued to impress us with his obvious passion for the sport we knew he was a perfect fit for the Kite Republic Team.
Since then Harry has gone from strength to strength, continuing to push his limits, improving constantly, and above all he's been a great ambassador for the sport of Kiteboarding.
We look forward to continuing to work with Harry and helping him reach his full potential!

Relatively new to competitive kiteboarding Declan competed in his first Australian National Freestyle Championships in February this year. He powered through the initial rounds before going out to eventual finalists.
Declan's passion for kiteboarding and drive to improve has seen him progress rapidly through a range of powered tricks that would take most people a lot longer to perfect.
His smooth style, huge loops, and powered blind landings has rapidly taken him to near the top of the rankings in Victoria.
Check out Declan in action below, with partner in crime Ewan Jaspan!

Lincoln Reeves (aka 'Linc' &/or 'that little s*&#, how does he do that') -
Born in '93 and with a background in basketball and water polo Linc came through our school and began kiting in January, 2006.
If there's any wind at all you'll find him on the beach at St Kilda. It's this passion and drive that have seen him rapidly improve and have led him to be arguably the strongest rider in St Kilda.
He is the current Victorian Men's Open Champion (2008/2009) and was last years Victorian Junior Champion (2007/3008), Hookstock Junior Champion (Feb, 2008) and holds the Coconet Classic Encouragement Award (March, 2008).
He is undoubtably a force of the future and continues to lead the way in pushing the Victorian Crew to the limits.
Brett Pearson (aka 'BP')
Beginning his kiting while living back in WA, BP's super smooth style and drive to add that extra grab or kiteloop to his tricks has created substantial crowds along the St Kilda sidewalks many times.
His love of flight and the endless opportunities it presents is shown also in his day job. When he's not on the water he's generally captaining one of Qantas' 747's somewhere around the world, if not captaining he'll be at 'The Vinyard' practicing his other moves!
